Advancing Young Artists (5th-8th Grade)

Intermediate Players is an open-enrollment theatre program for 5th–8th grade students, offered in both fall and spring semesters. As the next level of training, students expand their skills in acting, vocal performance, and stage presence while continuing to grow in confidence and artistry. Every student who registers is guaranteed a role in the show.

Based on J.M. Barrie’s classic tale, Peter Pan JR. brings the beloved story of Never Land to life for young performers. Featuring an unforgettable score and iconic songs like “I’m Flying,” “I’ve Gotta Crow,” “I Won’t Grow Up,” and “Never Never Land,” this high-flying musical is filled with magic, adventure, and heart.

When Peter Pan and Tinkerbell visit the Darling children, a sprinkle of pixie dust sends them soaring across the stars on an unforgettable journey. Along the way, they encounter Brave Girls, bungling pirates, a ticking crocodile, and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook.

Full of memorable characters, exciting adventures, and timeless music, Peter Pan JR. invites audiences to experience the magic of Never Land—and remember what it feels like to never want to grow up!

REHEARSALS

Rehearsals take place weekly at BLP.

Thursdays: 5:00–7:00 PM

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

  • Cancellations made after registration and at least one week prior to auditions will receive a 50% refund.

  • Cancellations made within one week of auditions or after auditions are non-refundable.

Important Reminders

  • Please note that by registering you are committing financially and that we abide by our cancellation policy, even in unforeseen circumstances such as a pandemic.​

  • Cast Size is limited and will fill up quickly.

​

  • Tuition includes props, sets, mic rentals, music, digital scripts, show photography (digital files/prints have an additional fee), the rights to produce the play, and instructional time. There are costumes pieces that parents will be responsible for.

  • Everyone who registers will have a part in the show.

​

  • Children and parents are expected to follow and adhere to the policies listed on our kindness and policies contract. Should there be a continuing problem, the child will not be allowed to participate at BLP.

​

  • Tech week rehearsals and performances are MANDATORY.

WHAT STUDENTS CAN EXPECT

During rehearsals, students participate in an interactive theatre education while learning the full production process from start to finish. Throughout the class, they explore characterization, foundational theatre concepts, and improv, while also developing skills in stage movement, vocal technique, and making strong, confident choices on stage.

CHECK LIST FOR REGISTRATION AND AUDITIONS

Our registration process requires one simple step (two, if you're a new-to-BLP family. See the next section of this page for details.

 

After registration is complete, you will receive an audition sign-up link and packet via email after registration; be sure to register for your audition slot (auditions are for casting purposes only), and also help your student familiarize him/herself with the pages of script. They will be required to read for various characters during their audition.

 

Help him/her prepare a short 60 second section of a musical theater song to sing during their audition (student may sing acapella or use an instrumental track.

  2. Accept all family policies

  3. Create a student (whoever you'll be registering for this program)

  4. Add an additional student, if desired; when done adding students, click, "no thanks, go home," then go to:

    • "My account"

    • "Payments"

    • "Add payment method" (be sure to click the checkbox for "this payment method is authorized for recurring billing" as it allows us to charge your card for this program and finalize your registration).

    • Click "Add" to save the info

Once you've completed these steps, you may close iClassPro.

Once you submit your TeamSnap registration, you're done! Our staff will process your payment in iClassPro.
